defensive driving

On my way out of the gas station parking lot yesterday...I was nearly killed.
Some jerkface with his starbucks whips out of his parking stall when I was practically behind him. I was already too far forward to reverse. With the speed he was driving, and the time it would have taken to switch into reverse I would have been nailed in my drivers side door.
So I just kept going.
It's hard to describe without physically being in the vehicle, but I literally missed the other vehicle by just inches.
Needless to say, my heart was racing. And I still had 7 hours to drive that day.
The rest of my drive turned out to be ok. I picked up Dan from the airport and then drove back to Lloydminster. And on a slightly related side note, can I just say I love driving through Calgary! I will always love that city!
Anyways, today has been a very slow day. I have been sitting in my chair for most of the day...and that is never positive.
So mostly I am just bored, although I did want to share my near death experience.

aww poor Heidi! I am glad it all turned out ok and that you did not get hit. That would have been terrible.

Also, Calgary! Yay! I love it too...maybe one day we can live there again and be neighbors. I would like that.

    Glad you are safe!
