hug your landlord day
So I think today may have been hug your landlord day, because I sure did.
This morning I woke up to a loud banging on my door and a fire alarm going off.
Someone in the basement hadn't been paying attention and they had burnt some sausages to a crisp and the whole bottom floor was totally smoked up.
This to some capacity reminds me of the time when I was in Calgary and the man upstairs had been trying to multitask and he flooded my bathroom while he had been filling his tub and cooking his breakfast.
Anyways, I shoot out of bed with little understanding of what is going on and run outside to find most of the other tenants hanging out on the lawn. My landlady was just freaking out, so I said "do you need a hug" and she did, so I hugged her.
So I am hoping that the rest of my day is less eventful.
I also learned something new about myself today, in the event of a real fire, I would just panic and run. I didn't grab anything to take out with me. So this just reinforces the fact that I need to go and get renters insurance.

Whoa!
I remember how bizarre that phone call was that the man upstairs had flooded our bathroom. Thanks again for dealing with that!!
Glad your home is still standing. Good luck with the insurance.
(I don't think I'll be hugging my landlords today :))
Love you!!
