thankful

This is probably going to sound a little strange. But I think I am thankful for the recession.
It turned out to be a wonderful chain of events. The recession hit and newspapers everywhere start to die.
Now the bad part is that as a result of this so many other people lost their jobs. But the good in that is that it prevented me from leaving this place.
I have a job that most days I love, but there is a part of me that wants to move on to bigger things. But I wasn't about to leave when I knew I couldn't get a job anywhere else. So I stayed here. And I think it's working out. It's been a year and three months and finally it feels like the connections that I have been working for are falling into place.
It's a beautiful thing and it makes me feel really good about myself and what I am doing! It just makes me happy.
On another totally unrelated note, today I made a potato salad. Potato salad reminds me of summer and I feel like I should eat it with a big burger! Oh that would be so good!
I am also thankful for the fact that summer is on the way and then I can have potato salad and burgers everyday!
